The Body & Understudy George Pigden & The Waiter

David has been involved in Out or Order since 1990, when he played the Body in the tryout at Leatherhead’s Thorndike Theatre (under its initial title of Whose Wife is it Anyway), then in the West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre, and the subsequent national tour. He went on to direct the play in the UK (Bournemouth & Sonning), Vienna, the Far East (Singapore & Kuala Lumpur) and the USA (Miami & New Jersey). He has also played Pigden & the Manager. After 26 years he feels that his career has now come full circle!

Recent theatre credits include: Dad’s Army, (National Tour), Yes Prime Minister (British Theatre Playhouse, Singapore/KL), and The Gift (White Bear in Kennington). He has been involved in every Ray Cooney play in the West End (bar one) for the past 30 years: Italian Straw Hat, Out Of Order, It Runs in the Family, Funny Money & Tom Dick & Harry, and has directed most of them (several times) since. David has also directed over 70 other productions, in the fringe, the commercial theatre, and drama school sector. 

David also spent several seasons in repertory throughout the UK: Crewe, Coventry, Leatherhead, Liverpool, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Windsor, and moved on to West End appearances at the Mermaid, Vaudeville, Shaftesbury, Playhouse, Duke of York’s, and at the St Martin’s Theatre in the 54th year of The Mousetrap
